Marchetta May Little, 84, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:16 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at her residence.
Born June 25, 1939, in Marion County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Franklin and Margaret (Salyers) Little.
Marchetta worked at DSI in Scipio and a member of Butlerville Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, The Waltons, college basketball, and any westerns, bird watching, gardening, and playing horseshoes. Marchetta loved to attend church camp and dances with Res-Care, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows over a campfire.
She is survived by her caregiver and guardian since May 2, 1987, Janet and Todd Galliher of North Vernon; roommate, Marilyn Ray, Janet and Todd’s children, Gordie Lucas, Rob Wilson, Ava Galliher, Caden Galliher, Isabelle Galliher, Chelsia and Shawna; and Janet’s grandchildren, Kaylah Bowman, Callie Lucas, Chace Wilson, Brett Lucas and Jenna Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother; roommate, Stacy Whitaker and Janet and Todd’s son, Greg Lucas.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Tom Sarver officiating. The visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Marchetta through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
