Erin Nicole Estes

Erin Nicole Estes, 44, of Scipio, passed away at 7:01 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born February 7, 1982, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Mark Estes and Machel (Yeager) Hines.

Erin was a 2000 graduate of Jennings County High School and 2017 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Psychology. She worked as a warranty claims associate for Cummins Engine Company for nine years; and worked as the general manager in Columbus and Greenwood for Bath and Body Works for ten years. She also worked Pediatric Care for A Step Ahead in Columbus for three years and Nancy’s Nook & Nursery in Columbus High School. Erin enjoyed going to Starbucks and Target, IU Football, attending Jennings County Sports for her son, and family time.  

Survivors include her son, Jarrett Lewis of Scipio; father, Mark (Lana) Estes of Hayden; mother, Machel (Wes) Hines of Scipio; sisters, Andra Baker of Madison, Emily (Seth) Moorman of Trafalgar, Alyssa (Kyle) Strong of North Vernon and Page (Josh) Robinson of North Manchester; nieces, Milah Snyder of Madison, Charlotte Moorman and Margaret Moorman, both of Trafalgar, Jaiden Gill of North Vernon and Riley Mae Robinson of North Manchester; nephews, Reece Baker of Madison, Brenden Baker of Scipio, Royal Moorman, August Moorman, and Valor Moorman, all of Trafalgar; grandmother, Glenda Green of Madison; aunts, Laura (Kevin) Johnson of Ogilville, Cindy (Al) Reynolds of Madison, Kim (Ray) Duesler of Bedford, Missie (Dave) Miller of Madison, Becky (Jim) Umphrey of North Vernon, and Boni (Scott) Fewell of Florida; and uncles, Harold Hartwell of North Vernon, Ernie (Pat) Yeager of Mooresville, Tony (Jamie) Estes of North Carolina, Chris Estes of Vernon, and Scott (Tamika) Hines of Scipio.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Marion Yeager; grandparents, Ruth and Byron Estes; and aunt, Vicki Hartwell.

A funeral service of Erin will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Seth Moorman officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will follow in the Scipio Cemetery in Scipio.
