Patricia Carol Brandenburg, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:34 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Scipio.
Born March 31, 1942, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Eileen (Corya) James. She married Denny Brandenburg on June 24, 1971, in North Carolina; he preceded her in death.
Patricia received her GED and attended Vernon Schools. She worked for McClain Sun East in Kissimmee, Florida for 17 years where she serviced convenience stores and was a label coordinator retiring in 2004. She was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness in North Vernon. Patricia enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting and being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen (Steve) Thayer and Kathy (Bob) Hopkins, both of Scipio, and Kay (Bobby) Stearns of North Vernon; grandchildren, Jennifer Foist of Brownstown, Wes (Shanda) Thayer and Cassie (Clint) Norton, both of North Vernon, Amanda (Shawn) Over, Brad (Kimberly) Foist, Chris Hopkins, and Benjamin Thayer, all of Scipio, Dustin Foist of Madison, Brittany (Will) Wooton of Dupont and Ryan (Kait) Stearns of San Antonio, Texas; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Denny; daughter, Kim Foist; son, Kevin Boyd; brothers, Eddie, Gene and Leland James; and sister-in law, Lou Ann James.
A memorial service for Patricia will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Rudicel Family Event Center, 408 South State Street, North Vernon, Greg Bauch officiating. The visitation with family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Jennings County.
Memorials in honor of Patricia may be made through the funeral home to Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness.
